PAST INTERNATIONAL TRAININGS FOR INTERNS/THERAPISTS

OUR SUMMER 2017 THAILAND PROJECT

Our team worked with 3 organizations in Northern Thailand.  Here are some images from our work there. We worked with about 50 children and women over two weeks engaging them in trauma-informed yoga and movement and expressive arts activities.

TESTIMONIALS FROM PAST PARTICIPANTS

“Thank you for an unforgettable experience.”

“Thank you for the opportunity! It was an experience of a lifetime and very inspiring to continue this work.”

“The opportunity for direct work with kids was amazing.”

“The hands on experience was incredible.”

Our training of students/psychotherapists/social workers and interns consists of mindfulness and yoga as well as didactic training in trauma-informed expressive arts, neurobiological research about trauma and other clinical aspects.  We also explore the culture where we are doing fieldwork, including visiting temples, exploring waterfalls and enjoying the local food!

Here are some photos of training/fieldwork in Thailand:

Here are some photos from the amazing project with girls at a home in Northern Thailand in past projects. We used multi-media materials including fabrics, spray paint, acrylic paints, and tape as well as others. The only directive given to the girls were to use the art to express their true voices:

  • Dear HAPPI! people,

I am a graduate art therapy student at Tobias School of Art and Therapy in East Grinstead.
I am studying transpersonal art therapy, which will give me a qualification of Arts Counsellor. It is a master equivalent training, I could work under the the BACP, but not by the BAAT.

The reason I am reaching out to you is that I am looking for a placement for next year.
I came across with your website and found the projects very inspiring. I would love to work with you if you take any students for placements. I would be especially interested in the overseas projects and would be able to spend couple of months in any of those countries.

I am currently doing one placement at a primary school where I have three clients, and I have lots of experience in working with vulnerable children and adults too. I would love to offer art therapeutic one to one and group sessions.
Let me know if you are interested and I can send my CV for you.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
    Warm regards,
    Klári
